National Night Out (NNO) is an annual event started in 1984. The goal of NNO is to create a sense of community and to promote crime prevention and safety awareness. This is also a great opportunity to meet neighbors, get to know local law enforcement officers, and work together to make Denver communities a safer place.
In the 42 years since its inception, 38 million+ people across 17,000 communities have come together on the first Tuesday of August to take part in National Night Out events such as block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts, and various other community events.
This year, National Night Out takes place the evening of Tuesday, August 5. Check out some of our local events below!

🚔 National Night Out at Rude Rec Center
- Location: Rude Rec Center, Denver
- It's time for us to come together in food, fun and friendship.
- August 5th | 3-7pm
🚔 Downtown Denver National Night Out at Skyline Park
- Location: Skyline Park, Denver
- There will be fire trucks, ambulances, and classic police cruisers to explore. Mayor Johnston will be attending along with several city leaders. There will be music, games, a photo booth, a caricature artist, free food and soft drinks, demonstrations, and giveaways, including door prizes.

🚔 National Night Out at Provincetown Landing Clubhouse
- Location: Provincetown Landing, Littleton
- We attend six different community events, bringing K-9 demos, vehicles, SWAT and Bomb trucks, and agency members who are at the ready to answer your questions!
- 6pm - 8pm
🚔 National Night Out at Division 3 Station
- Location: Denver Police Department District 3 Station, Denver
- The goal of National Night Out is to strengthen our communities while heightening crime prevention awareness.
- August 5th | 5-7pm
🚔 National Night Out at City Park Pavilion
- Location: City Park, Denver
- Our largest event of the day! We will have: Denver Park Rangers Fishing with Youth, Food Trucks from Federales and Dunkin,Yard games from Denver Rec Centers, Denver Sheriffs Mounted Patrol Unit, Denver Zoo Ambassador Animal Visit, Denver Fire Prevention Simulator Experience, Meet and Greet with the Denver Police Robot Dog, and so much more!
