In Adventure Quest™, campers work together in a mythical and magical world to overcome interesting challenges, solve mystifying riddles, brainstorm unique solutions to puzzling dilemmas, and swashbuckle with foes. Participants choose mythic archetypes and powers and band together as a team to defend their village, solve a perplexing mystery, or negotiate a peace treaty. In small groups of about six children, everyone gets a chance to shine and be the hero of a mythic quest!

Hidden beneath the surface of what looks like a fun game, questers are actually gaining valuable social and emotional skills that aren’t always taught at school. Adventure Quest™ supports Social & Emotional Learning (SEL) goals such as responsible decision-making, social awareness, and relationship-building skills.

ABOUT RENAISSANCE ADVENTURES

The adventure began in 1995 when Mark Hoge, an Eagle Scout with years of experience in the summer camp industry, started an after-school enrichment program in Boulder, Colorado that encouraged kids to foster their creativity and sense of adventure through live-action role-playing games.

Over the last 30 years, that small after-school program has evolved to also offer adventure-themed birthday parties, private events, homeschool groups, and their most loved and popular summer camp programs. Summer camps, geared for children and teens ages 6-17, are now the cornerstone of Renaissance Adventures and have provided exciting adventures for more than 20 thousand children and teens since the first camp experience at the People’s Crossing (formally called Settler’s Park) in 1995.

Given the success of Renaissance Adventures in the Denver Metro area, founder Hoge and Aaron Pirnack, who joined the team in 2000, are about to launch a licensing program to help others take Adventure Quest throughout Colorado and eventually across the country to reach more kids. Business Review

What parents and teachers are saying about Renaissance Adventures:

"Thank you Renaissance Adventures! Our children have been attending your camps for 3 years, and the programming has infinitely surpassed our expectations. Our children have gained more opportunities to learn about self-regulation & conflict resolution than I would have expected from a camp that is so much fun. The kids absolutely love the role playing, mind puzzles, medieval themes & being outdoors. Yet, the camps also provide opportunities for nurturing relationships by engaging questers in low stress, socially relevant situations. Back home, we see our children applying skills that they (unknowingly) learned while questing. Opportunities in this super fun environment enhance their abilities to manage their individual goals, show empathy for others & make caring choices. Time spent questing with Renaissance Adventures contributes significantly to my children feeling confident about being their authentic selves. We are ever so grateful!"

“We were beyond thrilled with our experience with Renaissance Adventures! The staff worked closely with us to tailor their many offerings to our unique‎ group of children, and proved to be impressively adept at shifting gears throughout each session, in response to our group’s many needs. The parents and children found their events to be a breath of fresh air… outrageously fun, as well as mentally and physically stimulating (while also very safe, which was of paramount importance to us).” - Ginamarie Showalter, Profoundly Gifted Retreat

"Renaissance adventures has been an amazing program for my son. He has learned how to deal with conflicts in a positive way as well as work collaboratively with other kids. I have also found that the professional staff at RA are wonderful to work with and are willing to find creative ways to meet kids' and parent needs."
