Mac Kid Review: Pampers Baby Dry Diapers

This month I was given the opportunity to try the new and improved Pampers Baby Dry Diapers.  I jumped at the chance.  After all, what parent isn’t on the eternal quest of finding a diaper they like and one the baby likes.

The first thing I noticed when opening the Pampers box was the very light smell of baby powder.  Usually I am sensitive to perfumy scents but these have that gentle, clean baby smell that everyone loves.  After pulling out the first diaper, I will be honest: I thought these were way too thin to work on my two and half year old.  These diapers are very thin and light.  I didn’t try them on myself but I can imagine they feel similar to underwear.

My son loves Sesame Street, so when he saw the cute baby Sesame Street characters on the diapers he was very excited.  He was especially excited that Elmo would be walking around with him through the day and sleeping with him at night.  With each diaper change he emphatically points out the characters.

Morning diaper changes are usually a wet mess.  If there isn’t a leak, there is always a lot of moisture on my son’s skin, which cannot be comfortable!   I was pleasantly surprised and impressed that the first morning change was very dry.  I wondered how a diaper that is cloth thin could work so well.   Here are the techie details: Pampers Baby Dry diapers are made with Extra Absorb Channels.  Pampers also has exclusive thick to thin technology distributing wetness evenly for a more comfortable fit. This also locks in wetness keeping my baby drier than before.

Speaking of wetness being distributed evenly, this also made it possible for Pampers to make a thinner diaper. No more waddling baby! My son waddles the most with a brand new diaper (because they are kind of thick & stiff) and when he has a full diaper.  You know the one, looks like a tennis ball is dropped in there.  With Pampers Baby Dry it was hard to tell how much liquid was in the diaper because it doesn’t pool all in one spot.

Pampers has done a great job with these diapers.  I like them because they don’t leak and are very light.  I can easily throw a couple of diapers in my purse and skip the diaper bag.  My son likes them because he can walk normally and because they have baby Elmo on them.  At least it’s my guess at why he likes them!

If you are in the market for diapers, give them a try!  You won’t be disappointed.
