Roald Dahl’s Charlie And The Chocolate Factory

I love musicals. I always have. From watching them on TV to going to my first in 7th grade, I have always been a huge fan. Since having children, my theatre outings have been numbered. I have been waiting for a chance to share my love of live musical production with my boys. So when I saw that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was coming to Denver, I jumped at the chance to take them. Could there be a more perfect musical for children than Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?! I knew they would love it, and I was so right. Both of my boys are huge live theatre enthusiasts now!
They both fell in love with Charlie, played by Collin Jeffrey (the production has a revolving cast of 3 other actors). The actors that play Charlie are all between the ages of 10-12, which is why I think my boys really loved this character. Another favorite was Violet Beauregarde played by Brynn Williams. The contemporary take on this classic character was genius. Spst! She still blows up like a huge blueberry and you will love it! We also loved Mike Teavee’s updated character played by Daniel Quadrino. We were so impressed with the way writers brought these characters into the relatable, almost, 2020’s.
My family left the theatre excited and full of joy. My boys were dancing and acting out different parts of the production all the way home
