I took my 14-year-old daughter to her very first haunted house this week... the 13th Floor. She made it through in one piece, but not before she repeatedly thanked all of the lovely folks whose job it was to scare us. It was a strange reaction, for sure, but who am I to judge? We were there with our friends from Macaroni Kid Aurora, and we had the BEST time!
We spent the entire evening checking out the haunted house and all of the attractions on site.
Whether you take the whole fam, or make it a date night... it was the perfect evening. I highly recommend!

Returning for the 18th season, Denver-based Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group brings back the scariest haunted houses in the Mile High - 13th Floor and now in its second year, City of the Dead & Asylum (giveaway coming soon!). Both are produced by Hollywood special effects artists and world-renowned haunted house set designers.
Brand new this year at 13th Floor are two add-on attractions: SENSORY OVERLOAD in Complete Darkness and axe throws at newly opened Class Axe Throwing – ENTER IF YOU DARE.
The most terrifying legend lives on in Denver! 13th Floor is Denver’s largest haunted house, named one of the scariest haunted houses in the country. It includes three attractions in one haunt:
☠️ CLOWN
Every 13 years, Clown returns to our world to gain strength by feasting on the fears of children. It’s been 13 long years that Clown has been trapped inside the Thirteenth Realm, all while plotting his next gruesome attack. Will he reap his work and swallow your fear- drenched soul or can you evade his evil grip?
☠️ TALES OF THE UNKNOWN: FACT OR FICTION?
Perhaps you can solve the mystery. The idea of a creature who is half man half rat may seem far-fetched, but there are rumors that a doctor at Hades Labs may have been exposed to a new virus called Agent 13, causing him to transform into something terrifying. We have acquired surveillance footage of a large creature scurrying through the lab, could he be looking for a cure? Or simply his next meal? You decide.
☠️ THE OTHER SIDE
You and your friends are out riding your bikes, looking for something to do before the streetlights come on. You turn back to suggest heading to the Quarry when you notice one of your friends is missing. Where did he go? Did he vanish to The Other Side? (Sound familiar?)
Make a whole night of it when you visit the 13th Floor! We tried all of the attractions and it made for a pretty intense evening (the best kind, right?)! We screamed, we laughed so hard that we cried, we almost peed our pants... I'd call that a win. Check out the fun (read: scary) stuff you can do IF you make it out of the 13th Floor!
👀 *NEW* SENSORY OVERLOAD (in Complete Darkness!)
This intense fear-inducing experience will take guests to levels the 13th Floor has never gone before... Guests will enter a maze in complete darkness and need to rely on their sense of sound, smell, touch and maybe even taste, to make their way through physical challenges.
FROM CHRISTEN: You guys... I was legit sore from the workout I got in here. As they say in England, it was MENTAL. As if finding our way through a pitch-black maze wasn't enough, I've never voluntarily forced my way through so many crazy obstacles in my life. SO COOL.
Disclaimer: Staff will not touch guests, however, this interactive experience will require that guests use their hands to guide their way, walk, duck, step over, and squeeze through some strange spaces. This is a highly physical experience.
🔒 MINI ESCAPE GAMES
A fully interactive and immersive experience, unlike anything you have ever done before. Race the clock: Your group enters a room and has only five minutes to use clues and riddles hidden throughout the room that provide the tools necessary to meet the objective. As the clock ticks down and the pressure mounts… can you stay calm, can you escape?
FROM CHRISTEN: Soooo, five minutes goes really fast. Haha! Let's just say that I'm really glad y'all weren't in there to watch me running around like a chicken with my head cut off, and STILL fail the mission! I'm sure it was quite the sight... but we were all cracking up and having a blast, so that's what counts, right?
🪓 CLASS AXE THROWING - ENTER IF YOU DARE
FROM CHRISTEN: Have you ever thrown an axe? It's not as easy as it looks, but it is super fun and empowering to try! "My Axe Girlfriend" showed up the ropes and gave us pointers while we were throwing. I tell ya, it was a bit of a workout! We highly recommend giving it a shot.
🍻 SKRIEKEASY BAR (21 and up)
Enjoy the new Frankenstein themed ShriekEasy Bar. Featuring a selection of wine and select beers, there is an outdoor Beer Garden and indoor bar guests can visit before and/or after they journey through the haunted house.
FROM CHRISTEN: This place is so fun. It's a great place to hang out with your friends and compose yourself after almost peeing your pants in the haunted house and other attractions. Just sayin.
