Returning for 2021, Four Mile Historic Park invites guests to delight in the season with immersive activities and interactive fun as it transforms into a winter wonderland. December Delights runs Wednesdays through Sundays through Sunday, January 2, 2022.

“December Delights is a unique holiday offering,” said Briana Gonzales, director of programming and engagement at Four Mile. “We invite guests of all ages to wander the wintry landscape, discover the enchanting sights and sounds of the season, and see the Park sparkle in the snow.”

Guests will be wowed by the wonderland of winter-themed activities, including:

  • Reindeer Games, presented by Farm-to-Spaceship: Participants are invited to strengthen their sparkle - the fuel that helps reindeer fly - by playing Reindeer Games! From interactive video games from Oh Heck Yeah to singing out loud, the Reindeer Games will have guests bursting with cheer and laughter. The creative challenges are designed for all ages and abilities to sing, draw, decode, move, and of course, sparkle!
  • Ice skating: This traditional Victorian pastime is available for an additional charge of $5 per person (and free for members!). Skate rentals are included in the fee. No reservation is needed, as skating is first-come, first-serve.
  • Activations: Scavenger hunt, kids craft activities; captivating art installations and light displays; seasonal snacks and beverages; holiday vendors and much more – from programming partners including Swallow Hill Music, SeriesFest, Rocky Mountain Goat Yoga and others.
  • Swallow Hill Snow Shows in the Grove: Every Friday night in December from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Mom Tips.... Know Before You Go

  • Bring a flashlight! The museum is historic (no street lights!), so some areas are a bit dark.
  • Bundle up! Most of the activities are outside, and the temperature definitely drops after dark (well, at least most of the time!).
  • Take advantage of the food trucks onsite for your dinner and evening snacks.
  • Bring your stroller or wagon if you have younger kiddos. There is a lot of distance to cover at Four Mile.
  • Try your skills at the ice skating rink! Even the younger crowd is able to join the fun on the synthetic ice.
  • It's already pretty dark when December Delights opens. Go early if your family has early bedtimes.
  • Be sure to explore the grounds at Four Mile! There are some hidden gems on the grounds that are pretty delightful.
  • Stop in to the buildings along the way. Fun activities await inside.
